What to Grow in September (Temperate Climate Australia): a list of vegetables, fruit, herbs, edible flowers and my Garden Cocktail of the Month.
September is a wonderful month in the garden. Spring has officially sprung and there’s a lot to do to prep soil for spring and summer planting, seeds to sow and nurture and the excitement of seeing that first seedling poke its head from the soil and greet the world. It also signals the end of the quietude in the garden, at least for me, as flower buds emerge and insect life becomes abundant. Here’s what to plant in September in my Sydney climate.

Garden Cocktail of the Month: September – Sunset Kiss
September’s Garden Cocktail of the Month is a special one for me. It features the strawberry and rose geranium shrub I created on Cocktails & Bars which ended up on my Gardening Australia segment. Now that spring is officially here, I’m making a new batch of the shrub to enjoy in the afternoon. The recipe is in my second book, SHRUBS & BOTANICAL SODAS available for download.
Cheers to enjoying garden cocktails in September!
